Maximum degree of protection:
Inefficient combustion of gasoline fuels and partial oxidation of lubricants can lead to the formation of polar species that accumulate in the oil (usually called sludge) and incomplete combustion of the fuel leads to the formation of small carbon particles (called soot). Power One oils disperse soot, so that it does not collect and form larger particles that can increase the viscosity of the lubricant and engine wear. In extreme cases, soot can clog ducts and filters inside the engine, leading to oil starvation.
One of the most important functions of a lubricant is to reduce the amount of engine wear. If moving metal parts are allowed to come into contact, they are damaged. As this damage worsens, engine performance can deteriorate to the point where the engine is no longer running. Engine wear can occur anywhere a moving part is located, such as the valve train area. Corrosion is controlled primarily by zinc discs (ZDPs).
